Sergey DAS, honorary member (honorary academician) of the Russian Academy of Arts, member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, member of the International Federation of Artists. Participant of many exhibitions in Russia and around the world. The paintings of Sergey Das are in museums, galleries and private collections.
He was born in 1974 in Kineshma, Ivanovo Oblast (Region). From childhood, he astonished people with his creative ability. He liked to paint, to model, to plane, to create and to amaze people with his works. His spiritual awakening began in the middle 90s. He started working as a painter in housing and communal services. There he met a wonderful man who was an intellectual and a real painter. They enjoyed a lot of philosophical conversations about art, painting, life and death. These talks inspired him to try and paint a serious picture on canvas. This was his first picture. It was a clean, white sheet stretched on a stretcher. On this canvas there was a cityscape painted with a black pencil. The extemporaneous exhibition of this painting attracted a lot of viewers and received marvelous comments about the work of the young remarkable painter. After his first picture, which was a success, he had no doubts what he is going to do in the future. His next pictures were painting with oil. At the beginning of the 2000s he moved to Yaroslavl and there he painted copies of pictures for sale and worked in artistic galleries, where he studied different styles of painting, market trends, and other areas connected with painting. At the same time he successfully went in for photography and video filming. He made one short artistic film and one full-length animated film, a lot of animated short films for television programs, a number of different commercials, photos, banners, and other advertising productions.
In January 2014 during the New Year's Holidays a mystical and symbolic event took place in his life. He had a dream. In his sleep he saw six abstract pictures, although he had never painted such pictures in his life, but these abstractions were painted so clearly and distinctly. He was sure that these were his pictures. He knew everything about them: their names and their contents. When he woke up he began quickly to paint all what he saw. This dream was so amazing and miraculous. He decided that he must paint these pictures. And then after a week of reflection he made up his mind to draw some abstraction. After first strokes of paint-brush on canvas he felt incredible freedom, lightness and all-consuming joy. He had never experienced such things before. In such an atmosphere, with such feelings he painted his first abstract picture which has the named « The Long Road of Heavens». This work was not among those six pictures from his dream but it was not less impressive. After this picture he had many other works. Each of them has its own individuality and charisma. Soon those six pictures from that dream were reproduced by him. He had his first fans and sales. His first personal exhibition took place in Moscow in «the Museum of Art in Peredelkino» The painter DAS paints from the heart, con amore, believing that his works are the message for the people who aspire to find the way to the truth. Every touch is saturated with freedom, compassion, and the feeling of sincere love to the world around us and to the world inside us. The magic of colour, mystical compositions, free forms, a unique artistic handwriting makes viewers experience deep emotions, astonishment, delight, clarification and immerses us in the symbolic world of abstract images of the painter.
Today, DAS has created approximately 200 works, many of them are in private collections, in the constant exposition of «the Myseum of Art in Peredelkino» and in the global projects of virtual museums «Google culture institute». on the website of the world gallery Saatchi
